Nukes for everyone yay! Hey Georgia is also under Russian threat, why don’t they also get a nuke or two? Then maybe their neighbor Armenia will think to themselves “why not me, I’m also under threat by an ex-Soviet country”? Then maybe Azerbaijan, then Turkey, then Saudi Arabia, everyone gets a nuke, I freaking love it! Then maybe other countries that got invaded by a bigger power like maybe Vietnam? Iraq? Why not!
I’d wager this is a more common view than a lot of people admit. The mass murder, starvation, absolute disregard of international law, and basic human rights.
Extremely Western biased, at least last time I visited several months ago. You’d get the sense that Ukraine is absolutely winning the war and kicking Russia’s ass from what I saw on there only to realize there’s much, much more to the story.
As a Palestinian living in North America for over 20 years, I totally hear you about it being a sad thing. Feels heartbreaking and scary to me, given that it was part of my identity.
Israel didn’t collect taxes out of the goodness of their hearts. They’ve collected them due to the Oslo Agreement, giving Israel the power to collect the taxes. This allows Israel to control the tap and punish the Palestinians whenever they see fit, as they’ve done over and over again for years.
