Also = when prefixed with a space, which works basically like `command -v`, expanding to the full path of the executable. For example `echo =grep` results in `/usr/bin/grep`.
I don't know F#, but from what I gather it's very similar to OCaml which I do. To put it bluntly, after OCaml, most other languages feel ugly. OCaml is my idea of what programming should be: graceful, ordered, well-designed, mathematical, yet practically applicable to real-world problems.
Excellent intro comic, it got me really excited about your product! I would love to try it out once you release a more advanced course. I signed up, hopefully you will send e-mail updates as you release new courses.
Obsidian may be Electron, but it doesn’t feel like it to me. It’s fast, smooth, and I’ve never noticed excessive memory usage. I think its quality exceeds most fully native apps, especially on Linux.
Last I heard it was built entirely by two people (and two cats). What’s a better way to build a high quality native-ish application targeting 5 platforms with a team of 2?
You seem to be seeking proxies for the effect of not thinking, putting your mind and body at ease, and letting go. Have you given meditation a try? Anecdotally, it can fulfill these needs in a way no other semi-conscious activity seems capable.
I like yad[0] for this. For example, I use it to present a GUI color picker to change/insert colors in Vim (via a plugin called vCoolor[1]). I also use it in some i3/sway scripts that need user input or to show a progress bar.
> During the initial run of [A Fish Called Wanda], a Danish audiologist named Ole Bentzen died while laughing during a screening, which led newspapers to report that he had died from laughter. The official cause of death was heart fibrillation, which may have been caused by an increased heart rate due to extended laughter. Cleese considered using the event for publicity, but ultimately decided it was in too bad taste.
Absolutely. Julia is amazing. All of her work on Wizard Zines is so positive, helpful, approachable, and yet has enough depth that everyone from beginners to experts can learn something. She is an Internet Treasure for sure.
