I thought it was fair to explain I wanted to wash my car there... people may have other reasons for walking to the car wash! Asking the question itself is a little insipid, and I think quite a few humans would also fail it on a first pass. I would at least hope they would say: "why are you asking me such a silly question!"
Hi Philip, have been following GlassKube and Distr for a while.
Have you considered the perspective that this could be used for internal deployments of product as well to multiple clusters/environments?
It puts a lot of pieces together end to end that are missing from building a deployment system around the defaults ArgoCD etc. There's a substantial gap between ArgoCD and getting to automated CI/CD with multi cluster support etc.
This makes me realise how useless I really am when things get low-level enough. Super impressed with the talent and ability of serious exploit researchers!
How do you use the model so quickly? Google AI Studio? Maybe I've missed how powerful that is.. I didn't see any easy way to pass it a whole code base!

Just out of curiosity, and since this is vaguely related to the content, how has Fly.io adjusted to SOC 2 when it comes to infrastructure changes and deployment? I read a while ago about how you guys passed SOC 2 which was an enlightening read, but I'm curious what systems you have put in place to keep velocity going and how you manage change more generally across infrastructure?
My current experience is that once we started transition to SOC 2 compliance and brought in new processes everything crawled to a halt, we now have multiple layers of reviews and scheduling, and the bureaucratic process is followed at the cost of expediency and doing sensible things in a sensible way (i.e., everything must follow the process, no matter how trivial or significant.)

There's 2 things on the horizon here for Kubernetes that give me hope. KCL, its own configuration language, and Timoni, which builds off CUE and corrects some of the shortcomings of Helm.
Though these days, OLM and the Quarkus operator SDK give you a completely viable alternative approach to Helm that enables you to express much more complex functionality and dependency relationships over the lifecycle of resources. An example would be doing a DB backup before upgrading to a new release etc. Obviously this power comes at a cost.
This was a clincher for me that made me switch from Chrome/Chromium on my Pixel. Previously, I was using Kiwi Browser because it supported Chrome extensions however while it works it has a lot of annoying quirks. I just couldn't stomach the experience of browsing the web without an ad blocker though. Now Firefox and UBlock work on Android, Firefox has quickly become my preferred browser. Still using Chrome on desktop though for now.. maybe that'll change too!
I mean, cool, but surely if this is a technical feat it speaks more to the complexity of our tooling and platforms than it does the impressiveness of AI. What I'm trying to say is that all of this is pretty primitive if you built the right tooling to express those ideas trivially. Like even a 6 year old could create noughts and crosses if the paradigm they were using allowed them to express the game rules in a way that was natural to them. So yes, while I think this is cool, I don't get how it warrants the hype and hysteria. It makes me sad that this minor technical accomplishment seems impressive because the web is an unintuitive medium for expressing logic entangled with UI.
