I am pretty sure you can use the sports tracking functions in garmin without an account, if not, at least without connecting the watch to a phone. You just need to connect with usb to copy the activity file (.fit) which can be converted to tsv.

If you are on an android phone what supports shelter[1], I can recommend installing "social" apps inside the shelter, and just sleep the apps when you don't use them.

just a few days late to get me to use outlook ... just last friday I was installing outlook to open a .msg file with attachments, the hassle of having to setup an account was enough to uninstall again and asses if I trusted a pip package to extract it for me. Much respect to those open source developers.
OsmAnd worked great with multitouch on my old ms surface (fedora+waydroid) but now it crashes after a few seconds. I hope to get it up and running, it is amazing for offline maps on such a big screen.
My favorite mod is something simple as renumbering the windows/tabs to range starting at 1, rather than being zero indexed, this way they align with the digits on my keyboard.
