I assume you mean htmx. It doesn't have to be either/or. You can supplement htmx with Javascript.
The core idea with htmx is that you transfer hypertext with controls and structure built in, not just a JSON blob that requires additional context to be useful.
I have just shipped a very useful and interactive app surprisingly quickly for my customer using just htmx with a little Javascript.
I figured there is a need for generating a lot of samples and building a predictive model per game for best results. Documentation confirms:

Just for balance, I went there, and it was pretty disappointing. I do love math and engineering, but it was very gimmicky, especially the panels. I tried striking up a few conversations, but people were really awkward and ran away. Also, generally as an event it was frustrating in many ways (for example, mobile internet is mostly down, and the agenda is not printed anywhere). But who wants to hear me complain.
We have landfills that eventually catch fire from all the compostable organic material, and then poison our air. Don't forget the potential leakage into groundwater.

Architectural visualizations is one. For example, design phase of remodelling your house would be much easier, if you had a 3D reconstruction of the current state already available.
Not sure, why they are displaying awful chromatic aberrations on their front page under the title "Advanced optics". That's not something to be proud of. If that was a result from a real camera lens, it would be a joke of a lens. Maybe fun for artistic purposes.

What a fascinating project you must have had! I've been studying quantum mechanics/computing myself a lot lately. I wonder, if there is anything practical I can try doing at home.
One thing that I find hard to understand is how you're able to connect to a random peer online with just an IP and port combination. The peer is likely behind a NAT proxy, and never communicated with you to begin with. In my head, NAT shouldn't allow this connection through, or be able to associate the port with the individual peer machine since the connection source (you) is arbitrary.
This is possible with port forwarding. But that's a niche set of peers, who have the power to configure port forwarding on a NAT proxy.
