Politics happen due to people. There is this myth that you don't need management or leadership at all. But there are enough examples of bad managed teams and bad self directed teams that its pretty obvious that politics happen in the absence of management.
If you had a superintelligence it could basically manipulate people so even if you don't connect it to the internet it could try to further its goal. There is also a chance that their goals are not the same as ours.
So we need a way to discern intent from AGI and higher and the ability to align the goals.
With that said I'm not sure if we ever get to them being self driven and having goals.
I disagree on the hobbies I like trying to get to excel on the ones that stick and then suddenly. Once I prove I can do it I relaxed. For example on photography went on the competition cycle and ended with some winners and with one picture on a good museum for awhile.
After that the pressure was off and now I just do dog photo's for instagram from the dog park :)
I used to be like this then my interest broaden a lot when I was about 22. I basically have friends now that I only talk via chat or when I want to talk tech since my old crowd would just chat about it perpetually.
Not really you don't get to see surgeons operate when applying to a position. There is a lack of trust why this whiteboard stuff happens to be honest I pass about 60% of the white interviews that i did.
