The United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research has a report on estimated losses due to tax evasion by country in 2013 (published in 2017).
“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”
“That’s the display department.”
“With a flashlight.”
“Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.”
“So had the stairs.”
“But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?”
“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.”
I wouldn't call sending truckloads of boxes of paperwork during discovery to opposing counsel and linking a 238-page PDF with a good ToC and summary equivalent, but I guess the internet has robbed a lot of people of basic research skills.
I remember it from news reports at the time. I can't find any documentation now, so it easily could have been Petaki. I can't find a transcript or video of Bush's address to the nation on the day of the blackout though.
> ...unlike, say, New York City or Detroit, whose residents found out the hard way that lots of their power comes from Canada.
Interesting that this myth is still alive. It started with Bush falsely claiming the 2003 blackout was Canada's fault before an investigation had even been done. Here is the actual postmortem report.
It would be a better comparison if both systems were on equal footing. In this demonstration the Xubuntu system has swap enabled and the Lubuntu system doesn't. The load averages should also not be taken into consideration as the Lubuntu system has only been up for ~1 minute and the Xubuntu system has been up for ~20.
It seems like a noble argument until you consider that the speech you'd be protecting is people calling others, often minors, various slurs. If you doubt this play a few matches of COD.
You're probably aware but make sure you're rotating out that gas. It will last longer in an airtight container than one with venting like most cans. Smart move though.
I got the trial. Gave me a 201 area code number. Called it and it waited some seconds after answering, played a DTMF tone and hung up. No, I didn't test it with Duo (lol). Every time this number receives a phone call it increments a login counter on the dashboard.
