This is apparently the trend right now, and these utilities are already there. What's still hard to do is the "glue" that connects the infrastructure/scaling side with the building blocks: that's "still" developers/devops work.
Maybe a vertical approach will likely work in practice: like having a platform that allows idea to app in 1 week or less with minimal human intervention (authentication/signup, authorization/permissions/credentials, marketing automation and analytics, billing, email collect, static pages templates, CRM, media storage and delivery, infrastructure and scaling) in a specific domain, let's say for example in the edtech space.
But this might find a fertile ground at those proponents of an universal basic income. So anyone doing exercise "good" for his/her health will be rewarded, perhaps the intrinsic value here is the saved indirect cost of healthcare.

The soviets also thought the same, unfortunatelly a system with bad actors cannot be solved from within.
Especially when the "bad" actors controls means of production and distribution, and have incentives to continue acting such and in return creating incentives for "good" actors to imitate the "bad" behaviours. Anyway, defining what's good and what's bad when you are an actor within a system is a very subjective exercice, a seemingly "good" actor will turn "bad" overnight given the right incentive and vice versa. The real question is determining who distributes the incentives, and who should. And for all the systems in this world, it spans from random to being concentrated in the hands of a few oligarchs or a single dictator.
Can some top notch hardware be made in USA ? For sure. Did someone made a top notch hardware, even some prototypes ? Please tell us who.
Perhaps the real issue is that nobody is excited to make hardware anymore in the US as westerners expect to retain ownership of the working capital in the Chinese industry, which is getting less and less relevant when China is getting richer and richer.
The western world needs a mental leap as Tesla did with the car industry if it wants to keep up with China in this ground.
Given the link between the US and the KSA, from a pure analyst view, if the CIA is giving away conclusion like that publicly, it's highly probable that something is brewing and under preparation somewhere.
Typically chinese way of doing things, making the opponent thinking that he's invincible then striking hard and fast at the right time. That in every domain.
I think such a matter being discussed at this level is void and a nonsense. Are parents really needing to delegate the choice of breastfeeding their children or not to the government or the WHO ?

Great answer @sov, in fact if that was an easy process everyone would already have copied it [with a profit]. And it's not only about the process, the microclimates of the Sambirano valley and Sava regions of Madagascar give it a unique flavor. But that doesn't mean it can't absolutely be done anywhere else, that's only a matter of time.
@matthewwiese I'm native of Madagascar. In fact a lot of french "expats" and madagascan living abroad are setting up small trading/exportation operations for the french/european market, only a few hundreds kilograms per year is enough to sustain an equivalent of a US upper class revenue. And it's even grown only in 2 very specific regions in the north of the island (where most of the cocoa production also come from). There's still huge opportunities if you have enough money and appetite for adventure to start a trading or setting up a plantation. 1ha yields on average 300-400 kg of dried vanilla, a process that takes on average 6-8 months from manual pollination to end of drying.
Madagascar is quite strict on land property though, and it's one of the hot topics on the political landscape right now, foreign investors most of the time work with trusted local proxy to set up the business.
I myself plan to trip to the vanilla producing region in the following months to see how it works, would be so cool to run a vanilla startup. One more thing, vanilla extract and vanilla caviar are even more valuable than the dried vanilla, and still at the hands of very few businesses.

Funny to see that despite all the negative voices against bitcoin, these people still advance theirs pawns and play the game. I seriously think that there's a perverse move behind the walls to instill fear to the commoners towards the cryptocurrencies though the media; until all the pie is eaten. Then in a matter of days they will flip all these negative opinions and show bitcoin as the new messiah on earth.
In such a case, an intelligent person always tend to think that the program bore positive results but politicians were too afraid of the consequences so they cut is short. They would be too happy to show a negative result to the public would that be the case.
