Aren't these amounts rather tiny compared to what a politician needs to win? What kind of favor would such token donations bring? It would be more interesting to see a breakdown of where campaign funds come from.
These are market prices. Keep in mind both that a politician will have thousands of such donors, and that a business needs to purchase dozens of politicians. Businesses are incentivized to pay as little as possible in order to gain the desired level of influence.
