FOr me the best medicine is to run.. run as hard and as far as you can for as long as you can.. there is nothing that a good run cannot fix... (distance and speed are relative) and please note the situation you are feeling is all chemistry in your head.. they are just chemical reaction.. if you are feeling low because of your startup then please be aware you are not alone.. also, a person is not a failure an event is.. besides the real failure is failing to try and you are not.. stay strong and there is plenty or love and kindness in the world..

Most likely the audacious ideas like rocket to Mars come from Elon Musk and, Elon has the track record to not have to go lean.. If Rajesh proposed a rocket to mars, security will be called. But Elon must have also broken down spaceX to a process of validating some definition of MVP (power sub systems, insulation, inertial navigation and other fancy terms) that adds to the final product.. Overall I feel Erics lean startup approach is much more reliable that the deterministic approach used by investors to pick the winner based on how young the team is, since when they coded, where they dropped out off and how much in the fringe the idea is..
In any failure or lack of success, it is not the individual who is a failure. It was the event / activity or effort that failed or did not succeed. Similarly the success can be attributed to timing, luck, team, as well as hard work. I feel people to often impose a failed effort on themselves. In my opinion, the real failure is failing to try. Success is when you get up and start again with the pieces you like.
I think we are being too harsh on Uber. People are not feeling as bad as journalists are making it out to be. It's always fun to go after success especially when the failure happens to be the very differentiation that made it successful. Also Uber's trajectory of growth would not have been remarkably different had it dug in and paid the entire 2X pricing. No one but the Govt can do that when real costs are involved. People will forget about it just like we forget what the financial institutions did in 2008.
