Hology is a logical analogue of holography characterizing the most general relationship between reality and its contents, http://ctmucommunity.org/wiki/Hology.
"But if we move toward authentication systems based solely on physical tokens or biometrics — things we have or things we are, rather than things we remember"
If the argument is valid it seems that it could also be applied to public key encryption.
Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) is the combination of Maxwell's Equations in a moving frame of reference and The Navier Stokes Equation. So it includes both the impact of inertial and electromagnetic forces of the flow. MHD is the long wavelength limit of kinetic (particle) plasma theory. The Earths core has in the past been modeled as an MHD fluid but it is usually assumed to be incompressible. I am not aware of compressible models but I have not worked in this field in a decade.
You could argue that in the skill level required to transition from destroyed jobs to created has changed. When the economy transitioned from farming to manufacturing a farmer could begin working in a factory with little training. Now automation is beginning to eliminate jobs at some skill levels. For these displaced workers to find new jobs years of training could be required. If the rate that jobs are being eliminated is greater than the rate that workers can train for newly created jobs and reenter the workforce then there could be a larger percentage of unemployed workers than has been seen historically.
A few statistics from the paper are the mean lifespans of the Kings of England and Scotland between 1000 and 1600 were about 50. This was also about the mean lifespan of people at court. In a monastic population studied only 5% lived past 45 and excavations of anglo-saxon cemeteries dated at 600-1000 CE found no one older than 45.
In Henery Adams's audio biography 'The Education of Henry Adams'http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Education_of_Henry_Adams (i.e. Henery Adams the grandson of John Quincy Adams was a 19'th century historian). He discusses his theory of history. In his model history is driven by the law of Acceleration which discribes the exponential growth of energy consumption through the 19'th century http://www.bartleby.com/159/34.html. Exponential growth in energy consumption was viewed as unsustainable as early as the 1860's but Henry Adams noted that it continued throughout his life up until the time he wrote his biography in 1904 and he saw no end to it.
You are correct for consumer electronics. But commercial and scientific computing are driving increases computational power and density that do not seem to be letting up. In the 4 years I have worked in hosting the amount of server you can get in a 4u box has gone from 8 2.5GHz cores to 24 2.5GHz cores and from 32GB to 256GB. The storage requirements and compute requirements for applications are also increasing substantially.
I thought this was playing audio not streaming it. A streaming app would need both background network access and the ability to play audio in the background. See the Background Audio section at http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/documentation/iPho.... It is not clear here that network access is permitted. Being vague in the permitted application functions for each mode makes it difficult to know what exactly os permitted.
