Drag strip with some of the nicest roads in the country and some of the best tuning shops in the world. If there's nothing for you to do, it just means you're a faggot.
I fucking hate programming. I would rather go back to labor jobs if the pay was the same. I would rather go back to fast food if it paid the same. I would rather go back to retail if it paid the same.
With such a large percent of this generation destined to be childless you don't think that conversation is coming? I'd bet on it once more start to realize the reality of their decision. Men or women, really.
Exactly. Especially with growing wages and shrinking revenues. Watch for the first uptick in unemployment claims. Companies will cut workers to make estimates.
I'm in the midwest and have friends that are farmers with old tractor collections. While I can't say I share their interest, it is certainly better than my coworkers plastic figurines.
I don't feel like I have any options. I've felt burned out for about four years now. Our tech stack is very old and my my interest in programming is near zero at this point. I feel like I'm just waiting out the inevitable. I don't live in SV or an area with more than a handful of companies who would provide a desirable job.
It seems strange to me how no other company has been able to put together such an attractive package to car enthusiasts like Tesla. Porsche might be close and will eventually get there if the first attempt doesn't succeed, but it really is kind of baffling. But with Elon being a car enthusiast, maybe it makes a bit of sense. Once they're able to do something about EV's low trap speeds, I think it will be time to make the switch, or at least pick one up as a commuter car. 10 or 15 years ago I wouldn't have imagined I'd be a fan of an electric car company. I am a fan of Tesla.
The thing that a lot of non-enthusiasts don't get is that, with a fun car, number 2 often becomes number 1. The only time it isn't is when you're in gridlock traffic. Thankfully that doesn't happen where I live.
Why would people have no business buying them? The cars I like aren't influenced by ads. Simpletons buy their cars based on the auto ads they see. How many times do you go to an amusement park in a year? My 950whp car puts a smile on my face every time I'm in it, which is multiple times per day. I'll take being able to make any commute a riot, that isn't bumper to bumper, which isn't even a thing where I live, over a couple yearly trips to Great America.
Too overworked at my day job to do much side programming work. I decided to mainly focus on generating passive income through investing. I don't see many things that I think scream out "cheap" but the MLP sector has still not seen much of a recovery from the very steep declines from several years ago. You could look into $EPD, $ET, $MMP. Distributions given off of the units are tax-deferred, so it shouldn't cause much of a tax issue until you would unload the shares. These companies also try and raise distributions quarterly (yes, $ET has not raised in a while, but they took a worse beating than any of the others. When they do raise them, and they will, share price should recover nicely).
You could also look at some CEFs. PIMCO would be the main one I'd consider for bonds. $PDI / $PCI / $PTY. If you would want to get into some equity CEFS you could look at $UTG.
Obviously you can consider a lot of other options if you don't mind them tossing off less income, but your post was bout generating monthly income :)
