I built JsonBlob[1], to help mock out JSON APIs so that building backends could be decoupled from front end development. I'd been needing this tool forever and then finally spent a weekend about 8 years ago building it out. I've been trying to find time to rebuild it with Kotlin and Micronaut, but just don't have the free time I used to have...

Yeah, it uses that for the editor, but also has a full HTTP API (http://jsonblob.com/api) behind it for storing the JSON and accessing it from outside the browser.
I built http://jsonblob.com for this purpose. It has an HTTP API as well as we nice GUI interface to edit your JSON. It's open sourced and really just a thin webapp on top of mongo, so it's easy to run your own.
I put ads on http://jsonblob.com about a month ago and didn't really expect much, but have been pleasantly surprised! I should have put them on it when I launched it a little over a year ago...
In terms of breaking even, it's in the black if you don't consider the time I spent building it (and rebuilding it when Grails started falling over). It runs on a single Heroku dyno, so that's not casting me anything and uses the free tier of MongoHQ.
It was something that I built a while back, mostly over a weekend, but haven't really touched since. It's running on a free Heroku dyno and coming close to the 512M limit (grails is quite the memory hog), so I've been rewriting it using DropWizard so that it can take better advantage of the dyno.
It does seem pretty broken with the latest Chrome (seems like menu items now require a double click?), so I'll take a look and try to get it fixed soonish.
This is a great way of putting a UI on top of JSON! I created http://jsonblob.com/ to accomplish the same thing, but a spreadsheet is much more familiar than a JSON editor.
It's the other way around. I built JSON Blob on top of JSON Editor Online so that I could have an API (http://jsonblob.com/api) to interact with the JSON.
