If you can manage to get any offer above $XXX, sell it. The show's popularity could very well be at it's peak, given that maintaining or even increasing television ratings after the first season are rare. Otherwise, it could be a fun side project worth sentimental value.
In addition to setting up a site/blog, immediately setup an email list that you send out updates to. You can then potentially offer a 'Pro' version of this extension and you will already have thousands (if not 10s of thousands) of potential customers.
The current big news is that certain exchanges (ie. Mtgox) are beginning to suspend withdrawals of currency for various reasons. There are talks of Mtgox declaring bankruptcy (but don't take this as fact), so that scares people. Also, certain government(s) are beginning to ban cryptocurrencies to some effect. Like currently popular currency exchanges, negative viral news affects the prices dramatically.
This is really cool. It's great to see more programs for kids to learn to code and/or create interesting things.
Filming and asking the students what they think before and after the program might be a good way to get some great feedback and be useful for future promotion.
I would suggest getting in touch (ie. emailing, Tweeting) with 20 or so startups that you're interested in and asking to meet the founder(s) over coffee. Ask them everything you can about their company/product and their specific role in everything. Let them ask you about what you're up to and subtly mention your search for an internship.
If you're making an app for a niche audience (ie. Bird Watching Enthusiasts), make it paid. These are people that are very excited about their interest and would be happy to give you $2.99 for an app that supports it. I would even consider raising the price to $4.99+.
If your niche is something that helps people save or make money, charge a lot more.
I currently use the chair listed below, and they're on sale for $100 each now. It is a very comfortable chair, and I use it many hours each day. I have never had any problems with it.
I'm going to repost my comment here from a previous thread.
One of my jobs is an iOS Freelance Developer, and this path is what got me my first client.
It seems like you are very aware of what you are capable of. It's great to be realistic, but also realize that you are now in the professional market like everyone else. Like the other posts say here, NETWORK.
Go to local meetups and present yourself as a real professional. Create business cards (BONUS: Make yours stand out from the rest). You will receive many business cards by going to these meetups. You can probably gauge what would make yours flashier.
Here's an example of my business card that has been one of the most effective marketing strategies I've ever used: http://i.imgur.com/4LeH2vf.png
Update your LinkedIn, Twitter, HackerNews, Blog, etc immediately with solid and presentable information. If you're unsure of how to do this professionally, check out other professionals' pages and emulate success.
Now, BUILD THAT PORTFOLIO. Even one side project is generally enough to show someone that you can do the work. Do you want to show off your skills, but you're not sure what to build? Take a popular site and build a small client for it. This is one of the most exciting experiences you will ever go through. We hear about people building businesses all of the time, and it seems amazing. There is so much more passion - in my experience - when you are building yourself.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any basic questions about the whole freelancing process. I'm happy to help in any way! (Email in profile)
