twitter is only valuable to established celebrities and well known brands who have already built a strong brand presence through the traditional mediums.
you can be an entrepreneur and have a social life if you find an understanding girlfriend and not some paris hilton wannabe. I tend to find asian women more understanding about work life.
i don't think blogs are beating regular news outlets because of some sort of unbias reporting. If blogs had the reach and power as mainstream news outlets they would suffer from the bias problem as well.
The true reason why blogs are beating regualar newspapers is because newspapers are trying too hard to win pulitzer prizes. Blogs give the same information but in a more convienent fashion that allows you to get the main idea with good commentary in a quick fashion.
So I think it has more to do with form and structure of content.
real time news is just a preference. The market segment for that preference and for people who know how to get real time news from the various tools is still very small.There are still millions of other people who prefer the old way that google caters to.
News corp getting rid of google and using facebook and twitter instead to drive traffic is dumb.They will block out millions of internet users in the process.
The only thing I agree with about marks blog is that twitter and facebook are not threats because they do not compete with newscorp news properties in the destination site space.
I actually think the crunchpad will fail, but the only cool thing about it is the possibility of a launch party. The valley needs more parties in general.
the game is declining, but it made boatloads of money in the process. I think it will just make those branded games like rockband metallica or rockband aerosmith, but for a smaller audience and still make money.
its all about identifying problems. if your product doesn't solve a problem then it won't be profitable. The bigger the problem the more money you can make.
Furthermore, you need to be on top of how technology, politics, and the legal system is changing business environments because these three factors creates opportunities that otherwise would not be possible before.
If you can make connections horizontally rather than vertically you can be a very successful entrepreneur.
