If people can't show their opinions of things, whats the point of even having HN. I didn't realise that everyone had to love everything posted on this site.
Good story, but I think you are forgetting that they are just after Beta users to test their product and find flaws and bugs. They will most likely finish Beta and then focus on growing their user-base with people who are likely to pay for their product.
Beta testers don't necessarily have to be the customers who are going to stay with you forever.
Just going to put this out there.. I'm not a fan of Sean Parker, but he's done pretty well for himself so far. Either he's a genius or always seems to be in the right place at the right time
I think this is a really great way of enticing new startups. Yes it's to get them more business, but for once it actually brings a good benefit of $1400+ for startups.
Stripe Checkout is amazing. Used it for a few months and it's worked extremely well. Glad they are constantly updating it. Looks even better than it did before.
Personally I think I prefer Google Glass to this product. I think most of the privacy concerns that Google are experiencing will be the same/worse for the Contact lens product.
