I like it. There are some things that are unclear though. How do I get notified about my review if I never physically sign up for an account? How long does it take for the "moderator" to approve reviews? If the site gets popular this could be quite a pain on you to have to go through each feedback comment and approve or deny them.
I run a similar type of startup (betapunch.com) if you ever want some user testing done for your own website. Best of luck to you!
One more issue I am noticing is that from my "dashboard" page I can't easily see how to review more websites to earn more credits. For that matter I can't see how to do this from anywhere without having to submit my own website again for review...
Happy valentines day! You can either search a #tag or a twitter @username and it will pull in all the associated vines. Let me know if you have any feedback.
I plan on showing popular search terms and usernames on the homepage.
Remember to click the videos from the search pages if you want to play. Also, if you see another #tag in text beside a video you can click it and it will execute a new search.
Just so you know, the real-time chat usually works. Not sure what is wrong with it now. I will try to get it fixed soon. The idea is that multiple people can easily collaborate about an image in real time.
http://www.chatplode.com - Simple image uploader that allows you to chat with others about your image in real time. Also set a time for the page to self-destruct. Thinking about allowing youtube and vine links to be chatted about too.
You're absolutely right that the pricing doesn't make a whole lot of sense right now. I am still experimenting with price points. Some of our competitors are charging $39 / test. I plan on increasing the pricing in the near future, so buy up for cheap now while you still can ;-)
As to your second point we need to do a better job of marketing the fact that we do get "average joe's" to review your website. Not everyone that tests websites for us is a usability expert. The only thing I make sure of (before approving a tester) is that they know how to be critical of the website they are reviewing.
You make a lot of really valid points. We allow our testers to summarize their videos with written comments prior to uploading their video. Many of our testers write very thorough critiques to be submitted alongside their videos.
I feel videos are far superior to written feedback because I pay very close attention to what users DON'T do when navigating my website. I think that's just as valuable as watching what they actually do (if not more valuable). And you just can't get that from somebody writing their feedback mostly from memory.
http://www.betapunch.com - we offer a free screen recorded user test for your startup. Of course we provide the option to purchase additional tests too. Get feedback in less than 1 hour from signing up.
All you have to do is set your "Screen Recording Link" to "Disabled" from your control panel page and that will make it so you do not receive a test yet until you are ready. When you are ready to receive feedback, just make it say "enabled."
I already switched it to "disabled" for you when I saw the message you posted in your description.
I guess I have to make this feature on my site more clear.
You were the 400th startup so we gave you 2 :) It was a promotion I mentioned on twitter - you just happened to be lucky and signed up at the right time.
We do provide you with a direct URL to view your videos so you can share it with whoever you'd like to. I am still working on a solution for our customers to be able to download their videos.
Thanks for trying it out and I am glad you had a positive experience.
I set up the email forwarding and tested by sending an email to that account so it would appear as a ticket. But I never got the email into my supportfu account... Also i agree that there is no clear call to action on where / how to sign up.
Good point. I know it's not crystal clear and that is largely my fault because I see it every day. I am hoping the newer style widget will clear things up maybe. The startup is allowed to customize an incentive when they get their widget code to display on their site. The purpose is to get something from the startup as a reward for beta testing their app. (A free upgraded plan, or some swag etc.)
Video recorded feedback has been proven to be much better than text based feedback. Why write out a problem and have something get lost in translation when you can show them and talk them through it?
