They haven’t announced anything like that - they’re just using LiDAR rigs to validate data from their vision based approach, particularly distance. It actually even mentions something about it at the bottom of the article you referenced.
There are some great resources on the keto subreddit (reddit.com/r/keto). I personally had similar issues when I first started keto - several times a week i found i had to be conscious of my electrolyte intake and would supplement with broth and often almond milk (potassium). However 6 months in I've found it's less of an issue, even at lower electrolyte intake, but I'm not sure why. I never found the need to hit the super high recommendations on /r/keto though - I found that 4,000 - 5,000 mg per day was more than enough, and I'd get heart palpitations and muscle cramps generally under 2,500 / day. You'll see a lot of people on /r/keto saying you _have_ to hit 7k+ a day, and people who drink salted water all day - personally, I think that's overkill.
I'm reading Haskell Programming from First Principals right now it's just awesome. I've gone through a couple books on Haskell before this, and it's by far the best. Can't recommend it enough!

Curious what you see out there that's higher performance and lower cost than AWS? In my experience it's been a great fit for small apps all the way up to large complicated applications at scale - and once your infrastructure is large enough you're buying reserved instances anyway at anywhere between a 33% and 70% discount.
So the way Werner Vogels explained it at the AWS Summit in NYC recently, Aurora is built from scratch and is MySQL compatible, but it is not a fork. He mentioned that they broke it down into components which are each built on pre-existing AWS services - for example, the storage layer just DynamoDB which I thought was really interesting.

Quick comment on the comparison of AWS cost to DIY cost - for AWS costs you're using the on demand pricing for 3 years and comparing it to the cost of buying hardware over 3 years. If you're going to be running instances for 3 years you're probably going to be using reserved instances - in the case of m3.medium instances the rate drops from $0.070 / hour to $0.0261 / hour.
So, with the 3 year reserved pricing your total cost ends up being something like $411,544 - less than half the cost of the referenced $880,000 hardware purchase price.
I bought the ebook last weekend and I have to say that Chris has done a really great job here. For anyone looking to get deeper into Elixir, this is a great read - can't recommend it enough!
I don't think so either. The impression I get is that this covers retention policies for communications incidentally acquired during intelligence operations. A (perhaps poor) example might be, a raid on safehouse that yields hard drive that contains email records, where some of those emails are unrelated communications with a US citizen - it sounds like records like that would now be destroyed after 5 years if there is no specified need to keep them. Sound right?
