I do not buy the "No side mirrors" argument, because what you'll also see written on the back of these trucks is "Use dipper at night", that is, do not use high beam cause the when reflected from the side mirrors, it blocks your vision.
I have had similar observations about chaotic driving, people are cautious. At place where I live in India at present, one can actually cross roads walking slowly ( The traffic will just go around you )
I do not think there's much truth in "No side mirrors" argument though, I have seen some very old trucks and buses here in India, and cannot recall any missing mirrors.
Infact, the general convention in India for overtaking a truck is to flash highbeam light, turn on the indicator to highlight the edge of your car and overtake.
A really good example to showcase the capability of the technology !
In context of India, where news channels have reneged from due diligence on evidently doctored videos, this is something which can have huge consequences.

I very recently discovered the combination of emacs + Artist Mode + ditaa for creating diagrams, and the experience has been pretty good so far too.
It is a really good font, however, it just doesn't work for me on terminal & terminal based applications. Somehow I find that there is too little spacing between the lines.

The issue is very different than that. More over, the size of crowd is way to large for the law enforcement to handle swiftly.
This is not a flashpoint event, huge number of people were mobilized from the neighboring states for the main rally that took place before the violence broke. (the number of people gathered there were more than 100K, and this will a very conservative estimate)
In such a politically charged environment, the spamming ease becomes a real threat to the law and order, and above all, to human lives.

Not a freedom of speech issue. whatsapp messages spread quite virally. A large number of users of such services who have got access to mobile internet quite recently are susceptible to take a spam/hoax message as an authentic piece of information, specially the ones which can directly affect the person. Also, you need to keep in mind that services like whatsapp have become a significant source of information for many people.
A large number of such messages that I have come across are photoshopped images, mix it with the ease of sending bulk messages and you get an explosive mixture.
One way to tackle such situation will be, IMO, to make bulk messaging an expensive (computationally) operation, something of the nature of HashCash.
We'll, my assumptions are based on what I have observed personally, and that is, a lot of students and college going kids living in hostels use conventional browser based web-apps.
Everyone wants to compare prices before making any purchase, and with this, what you'll have is on one hand a bunch of websites that one can view in a browser tab, and on the other, a dedicated app which one has to put extra effort to navigate to.
I don't understand the point in shutting down the website. There's a large audience in India which browses for products on e-commerce website while casually browsing other stuff.
Taking the service entirely to an app based platform isolates a lot of such customers.
Another point is that the there is a section of audience which doesn't necessarily use smart phones, or won't use smart phones for making such purchases, who now won't access myntra.
Indian e-commerce space is evolving, and with so many players in the field, the ultimate user would explore all the other options before committing to a purchase (unless they are extremely loyal to myntra), and now it seems to me that with the platform restricted to mobile/tab application, myntra has made a huge mistake.
But it would be interesting to see how this pans out.
