Maybe. Just using 10 as an example. However, in 5 to 10 more years, you may have a clearer view of what you went through and why you made the choices you did. It sounds like you are still going through it and while I may agree with your perspective, I wouldn't put it in the same category of thoughts as those that have had time to marinate on the other side of the events.
I clicked on a few ages and saw advice from someone that was the exact age. To me, those are pointless in this context. Maybe restrict posting to posters that are >= 10 years older than the age?
Thanks! When I would start working with new clients, I often wished that I had a simple way to set up an MVP or copy and tweak a previous project. I also wanted something where clients could go in and make changes without having to set up an environment.
Keep working on yours. It's fun and you'll learn a lot.
So, I posted this web app builder a while back and got some good feedback and some awesome customers, but it was just too complicated. Originally, it had a UI builder like webflow or something on top of the API builder. So, painfully, I ripped out all of the UI builder and tried to simplify it.
Now, it's like a jsfiddle meets a rails generator. Anyway, play with it for free and let me know if you think that it doesn't suck. :)
The builder is similar to products like Weebly, but the major difference is the user generated content.
On Base Deploy you can create subscription plans, register users, and allow users to create pages that you've set up. That's why we are charging based on usage now. However, the pricing is being figured out.
I was playing with a more technical landing page, but didn't want to make it seem overly complicated.
We are definitely working on options for growing apps. I want any transitions to be as smooth as possible. We are also working to find the right pricing.
Hey HN, Faction is a platform that allows you to quickly build and customize web apps. You can connect to your Stripe platform and register customers. Feedback appreciated.
Thank you! You're too kind. I want to add a lot more features to allow displaying data (e.g., tables, graphs). These will be handy when using the dashboard layout.
Thanks for taking a look at it and for the feedback. I really appreciate it.
Maybe it's just faster with my workflow, but I wanted to be able to get something up quickly and with little effort. I also wanted something that was an actual responsive website.
I've been playing with this idea of getting mockups online for clients quickly, so that I can get feedback sooner. So, I built this app. I'd love to hear what people think.
I think the idea can work and I like that you are going with a clean layout, but I would definitely work on cleaning up your images so that they are not pixelated. Also, there is no content valuable to the user above the fold. This may cause a large bounce rate.
One the deals page, it's not clear what deal the 'Get This Deal' banner gets you.
I think the intention was that using good girl gina as the demo user would keep it lighthearted. I totally see your point though. Thanks for taking the time to look at it.
