Great. More evidence that Facebook is changing the way we think and act. I can't wait til the next article that says the same exact thing but at a higher degree.
>It's all you can do to have even the tiniest amount of influence.
That's just the thing, there wouldn't be a tiny or infinitesimal influence. It would be zero influence.
>Sure, your vote might not be worth much now, but that influence accumulates.
This makes no sense.
>Refusing to participate is not going to change anything, it's not going to fix the system.
Of course it won't fix anything, but at least I won't waste most of the day waiting in a line to mark a piece of paper that will change nothing.
>As to your first point: "I don't vote, because not enough people vote for what I want" is a self-defeating argument.
This is not what the parent poster said at all. It was mentioned that it's a 90% dominated by one of a two party system. Voting R would do nothing, since they already have the supermajority. Voting D wouldn't do anything, since one vote, even if it would tip over some kind of rounding mechanism, would still only bring the D vote to 11%.
>If you're unhappy with the current numbers, the very least you can do is make your tiny part of a percentage change.
Utterly pointless and a waste of time.
Don't drink the democracy kool-aid, folks. We're fucked and there's nothing that will stop it until we all get together and do something about it. And that's not happening soon either, so basically fuck everything.
Same here. iOS devices are well past the hipster threshold.
Also, it looks like this isn't the only article trying to spook iOS users out of using TouchID today. PandoDaily is running one as well. They even included some snark about how the writer doesn't know how to make TouchID work, therefore making it garbage I guess.
If anyone out there doesn't know the trick yet, use two TouchID fingerprint "slots" per thumb and one for your main hand index finger. I'm well over 95% success rate on TouchID use with this method.
I found this to be a particularly good read. Hatred has been very interesting for me since I started actively pursuing the goal of removing it from my life. It is very heartening to see this being done at the medical level. If I had any sort of medical credentials, I would put serious thought toward joining their studies. Alas, I am "unskilled".
This is my stance on this question as well. Maybe it's okay to stop at dedicated computer + cell phone. At least when those get cracked into, they won't cause any physical harm (mental grief yes). If someone cracked into my fridge and messed with the settings, I would then be missing a lot of money and have the huge chore of cleaning a fridge full of spoiled food. Also, please never put door locks on the internet. Please.
If you guys are interested (and aren't already aware) there is a subreddit that houses all of the discussion on basic income with lots of good material pertinent to this subject. http://www.reddit.com/r/BasicIncome
This, exactly. I'm glad I never got into the online dating scene, specifically because of garbage like this. This is not automating love, this is defeating the purpose of an already nebulously-useful tool.
