For people who still don't see any problem in this, I have to remind you that ultimately the guy on top of the military hierarchy in charge for selecting the drones with AI targets is... Donald Trump. If you're not scared now, I don't know what to do anymore.
At some point, I thought that the main goal of these big startups with tons of claims and wishful thinking was to make the world a better place and help humanity to become a better version of itself. Instead now they create tools and weapons to "reduce collateral damages" in governemental induced wars (which have not solved anything over the last 20 years in Middle East but only increased cash flow in West pockets, made tons of death, both there and in West countries), and they have access to information related with most of the citizens at the same time. OK cool.
In 10 years we will talk about whistleblowers killed by drones using AI as well.
Every time I see a new version of OS X released, I'm tired just thinking about all the dev incoming to support the new issues / crashes / incompatibilities / XCode things to download again and other so called "features" support...
A lot of people is talking about Laravel. I'm new on web development, and I thought that Symfony 2 was more popular. Any specific reason for prefering Laravel to Symfony ?
And trackers still exist today ! Check for example MODPlug Tracker and Renoise.
I have used trackers for years, and although I use mainly modern DAWs to make music today, I have never been able to be as much prolific with them as with trackers.
Is there seriously a business right here which works thanks to ads ? I mean, do you really know people clicking on these ads ? For me, everything here is just working because people want to pay you so you put ads on your website... But this money, at the end, does not come from money generated from ads, but from... business angels and VCs money !
Wrong. You still have a lot more software for Windows than for Mac OS X (thanks synthedit and the Apple developer fee), and latency has never been an issue here thanks to ASIO. Moreover, a lot of people amateur or professional uses Windows software to create and record music, such as Reaper, Cubase, Ableton Live, Pro Tools etc.
Anyway, it's true that is a shame that you need to use a third developer party SDK as a standard to have the lowest latency available on Windows, when you have CoreAudio on Mac OS X.
But you know, developing music hardware/software for Apple has a lot of serious/ridiculous issues too, mainly about compatibility between Mac OS X versions, developing tools broken after an update, signing apps, the whole Apple Store thing, sandboxing AU plug-ins... That's why I'd like Microsoft to perform better here.
Right now, I'm trying to learn a few things about webdesign, and I have spent some time on typography yet. However, I know a few basics now, a few things about typography history, but I have never been able to find tutorials about the "why should I use this typeface or this other one there". It's like everybody is able to speak about typography theory but not about practice and thinking.
Someone knows where I can find other articles about practice ? Thanks !
