I've learned Logo when I was 8 (around 1993), the school also invited me to a robotics class that also used Logo, so I was able to not only draw interesting stuff with that little turtle but also learn how to use external interfaces to control stepper motors, led lights, etc. I think this was all very fun and resembled playing with Lego, allowing me to occasionally show some cool tech stuff to my friends.
Being visual and interactive is key, I believe, to engage with kids on what can be considered most of the times an abstract endeavour.
That’s absolutely exciting. Thanks for all your efforts and the team’s! I hope to contribute with the project somehow, but you guys are on another “lower”-level :)
Cheers
I was really into golang too to the point I started doing some production work on it, but after I tried crystal, it became a little dull. Crystal is a great language and surely has a bright future for those who love ruby syntax.
I agree with you. Those estimates were truly helpful and we could adapt in order to get more battery time. I don't feel good about Apple updates anymore. I used to be eager about beta tests and stuff, but nowadays I just hope they'll not touch anything else.
I was eagerly waiting for the release of a new MacBook Pro, but when I saw the Apple keynote, my first/only reaction was to buy a new mid-2015 model to upgrade my mid-2009 one. Great upgrade, btw. I want to see what are apple's next moves, I just secured more 4-5 years on a great and stable laptop.
Just speculating: maybe Tim Cook wants to force a decline in sales in order to justify the killing of the low-performant MacBook line? Hackintoshes are fairly common nowadays and external keyboard and trackpad 2 can keep the great interaction provided by OSX.
I remember reading your post some time ago, it really helped me creating a better view of this solution and is in fact our preferred method thanks to it. I still haven't implemented it for real and it would be great, if not much to ask you, if you could elaborate the impact of these changes in a post update? What do you think?
