Great app right there and I think it is something that can help me get estimates out. Find time to finish and polish it I'm sure you will have many users apart from me ;)
I am not (Dale / Katz and cronies) but I read somewhere that major fastboot work will begin after 2.0 beta is released. This will be to align it with glimmer changes. So hold on tight we still have more goodies coming in the 2.x series :)
You should check out Laracasts https://laracasts.com/ . Its screencasts for laravel php. I think its awesome, has both beginner and advanced stuff on it. Check it out
What you said might be true, in smaller countries the options are usually very limited eg in Zimbabwe I think we only have about 4 incubators. Choice is very limited given that none of those I know are actively giving funding. This doesn't stop us from hoping for the best and keep trying though.
My sister(a student) got a new windows laptop and it was full of viruses and unusable within 4 weeks. She used to use my ubuntu machine before her new one so she did the next logical thing...asked me to install ubuntu for her. She has never looked back since
Rant or now, too direct or not this post is spot on. I am not Indian but can relate to what he is writing about. Young Africans are facing the same problem. Its not until recently I decided to take my own path not that which was dictated by family and society. Kudos bra for having the courage to write THIS as it is.
I like nooku alot...it brings back the sexy in php. I hope this serves to inform other devs that php is not dying anytime soon. Infact this is just the start :)
Hie Chris, which languages enjoy out of the box support/awesomeness of light table. Im a power vim user and light table is the first ide that has me thinking of switching. Keep up the good work :)
Disclosure:Im not employed by a big tech co or any tech co at all to be qualified to answer your question but here are my thoughts.
A CS degree is not as important as being skilled but tell that to the employers. I was already a "good" coder before I decided to do a degree in Software Engineering. I have learnt alot of things that I would never have given a second thought had I not started the degree.
To answer your question...I dont think you need to be any better than a person with a CS degree you just need to appear as if you are ie side projects that are exciting or active contribution to open source projects. Give them a reason to think that getting a degree would have been a waste of time because you already know it all.
I believe one does whats best for them, if you want cheap stuff get them but also give the same opportunity to choose to those that want the best(finer) things in life. We all get what we want.
Life is too short to work a crappy job. I believe you should do what your heart wants. If you can live comfortably for six months atleast I think you should quit and start looking for a job you like. I recently quit my job, I was a banker. I did it without any plan or money to land on. I know its foolish but life is too short to do something you dont enjoy. Goodluck with whatever you decide.
