Linode packages have more cpu available and their drive speed is actually pretty good for being non SSD as well. As I'm sure people will point out, neither one of them has a perfect reputation lately, but I've used both for various purposes, just nothing mission critical on DO, just basic quick stuff that doesn't need security or much cpu
Is this serious or supposed to be satire or something? Cause it reads like something a deranged person would write to me... Making comments about how Google employees automatically bring police, "All of Google's employees should be prevented from getting to work", etc. Yeah they do bring police.. to deal with nutjobs that decide to randomly show up at their houses and stop them from working, stop a bus in the middle of the street and cause a disruption, etc.
I use a couple different emails for different purposes myself. A couple different names I use online for most things and my first initial last name for more professional stuff (ie: resumes, clients, etc)
With the amount of customers Linode has, I'm quite ready to chalk that up to people freaking out because they use their CC on Linode and not realizing they also use it on 3 dozen other things that might be the cause
One thing to note is that the irc channel if that is what you mean by chat, is mostly populated by non linode staff. And many of us there tend to be sarcastic as we idle there and chat about all sorts of stuff while we are bored at work or whatever. Unless it's someone with ops, you aren't getting an official reply and even then for something official they usually refer to ticket system.
Except both of those tlds are a lot more expensive than a .com and as the article notes, do NOT register with the general public. So if you have the money to spend on a vanity domain that you don't need to have "regular" people remember, it is an option.
I'm pretty sure you are right, I don't remember it being $11 because I could have afforded that but $50 was harder to do at the time I was looking into it
I haven't personally used Mikrotik products, but I know a few people who have and they really like them. It's on my list of things to buy and try out when I have time & money
Ah ok. I looked at it and noticed it didn't sync when changes were done. Incron should work in theory, but I haven't tried it. The lack of a headless gdrive client for linux & the fact that I still use windows on a few systems is why I still use dropbox. Was just curious how well it worked in practice
