I was studying at the university, and my dad was fired, so I "decided" to work (during the day) and study at night and I found a different new world. I wasn't the only guy that did that; it was hard but not impossible. I also worked on summer in one of the worst schedules: 12 hours per day x 7 days per week. Am I mad?. Not really, I really enjoyed working and studying, I earned experience (and money), and when I graduated, I already had a job, expertise, and money (and contacts).
Now, if you say that it's hard to study when the study is your only concern..

Yesterday I configure NameCheap DNS and it propagated to the first DNS in 15 minutes and globally I think it could take an hour if not less.
Sometimes the problem with the DNS is not the propagation but the cache, usually, the DNS is cached locally so we (as end-users) are unable to see the changes unless we refresh the dns and it is not automatic.
However Buzzfeed is acting in good faith, it paid a minimum of 10 weeks plus other benefices until April. It is some shocking, usually, companies are crueler (the average is to give nothing) and how their former employees are retributing it? Bitting it back.
MIT is just burning money and is achieving nothing. For example, from the MIT site:

I don't know which part of "we are running a quantum computer but we don't wanna show you" (they are saying the same during 10 years), is not a scam?. They could run the api in a server and sells us as it runs in a quantum machine.
There is no such thing as self-explanatory code like some people claim (is it arrogance?).
For example, for the name of a function to list something, I have seen (standard libraries) the next name of the functions
findAll()
ToList()
showAll()
lists()
results()
and for insert, I have seen:
insert()
add()
save()
store()
And the verbs "insert" and "save" are not the same, even in the same context (unless you are using the library), it's not as trivial to determine what the function does.

I tested Net Core the last year and I compared with .net framework. The performance was horrible (concurrent test).
