Matt & Pierre, thanks for your thoughts and sorry that this ended up being a rookie mistake. I have a rel canonical good to go. Thanks again for your time.
I've even gone in to Alexa to start verifying all of our back-links. All of our links are from blogs / news / twitter , et al. That said, it doesn't mean Penguin didn't hurt us. Algorithms have corner cases.
I agree. This seems at this time to focus on the already easy to install/configure parts (a Ruby build and Rails gem) and not the harder items (like Nginx).
It's unfortunate with all the tracking and data-mining going on that once information enters the public sphere, it's there to stay forever. Why can't we DMCA our own private information?
It's interesting to see brands adjust to social media. Pinterest is killing it right now by exploiting sharing in a way that makes sense to consumers. I wonder what techniques might work for selling on Facebook? I suppose getting things into the newsfeed or likes on specific items to be a crucial first step.
I've been looking for something like this. But what can you do about Facebook and LinkedIn and the websites that are sharing my information in the first place? What happens when these websites pull my information again? Figure this out, but I like where you're headed.
