I'd be curious to hear who you think the target audience/demographic is for your landing page.
In particular, I find that the page is succinct at describing "what" AppScale is but not "why" I should click either Join or Download within the first 45 seconds
What's crazy is that Facebook has only been a public open-signup website for ~6 years, and it's so tempting to assume it will be around and popular forever -- I mean, why wouldn't it?
But at the end of the day we really have no idea what the world will be like in 15 years.
It only took MySpace 3 years to fall out of favor.
Interesting presentation, but it can't be the whole story. Even projects like SciPy which use the most rudimentary data structures (basically just a large array of floats) and algorithms (sometimes just looping through the elements in order a few times) see a considerable advantage when rewritten in C.
In our experience, we've found that most access points do in fact have a fixed power.
Either way, the system can accomodate some amount of dynamic changes.
