Buying insurance in Kenya has been a frustrating process and largely opaque. There isnt a way to get quotes easily or online and and apply. The only to apply has been sales agent and you cant know if you got a good deal.
I decided to build the app out of this frustration trying to buy insurance a few months ago.
The app allows you to search for quotes, browse through the cover details so you're well informed and then apply for the cover
Donate? By that I mean offer hosting to some good social enterprises or organizations. That much credit can run small sites/apps for such organizations for quite some time.
I completely burned out about three years ago and took a break. I was working at a digital agency and the work was good but the hours were really crazy with tough deadlines. It was all exciting but then I just burned and couldnt just write anymore.
I decided to take a break, went into banking - Yeah! Worked in the front office and doing clerical tasks for about a year and it was extremely refreshing. It was a huge bore a lot of the time but the break was helpful because I had plenty of free time compared to previous job so I could spend the time doing side projects and learning a lot of stuff online.
After one year away, I had spent the time learning new things and tools and was really excited to get back into full time development again. And now pretty happy I did that. I guess I needed that.
You dont have to take another job or career change. Just take some time and do the things you liked about development or try new things and you'll get the mojo back. But defn take a breather I guess. A couple of days away
I like the concept but it still doesnt the solve the problem:
The concept is that if it were accepted by browsers, devs wont have to struggle with squatters for domain names. So instead we register the hash for a word or phrase we want to use and us that as the domain.
BUT. nothing stops the squatters doing the same thing on this new concept. the squatters will just register the hash leaving you in the same problem as before
