I've been hearing about the latest craze around AI tools non-stop so I wanted to spend some time for myself trying to see how helpful these tools would be in producing something. So I set out to try and build a custom e-commerce store where the design is inspired by AI.
The above content doesn't dive too deep in any direction (AI tools or Shopify Hydrogen) and is somewhat high-level info. But will continue to tinker around some more with similar ideas that I have in mind (have AI to assist something -> then build it).
One of the co-instructors here. I 100% see where you're coming from. There's a lot of things that we cover in the course and spend a lot of effort in and there are other topics that are very important that we didn't include within the scope of the course (e.g. unit/integration testing).
To address the above, we've tried being as transparent as possible by highlighting the main focus points of the course in our landing page, showing the app that people will build publicly (https://tinyhouse.app), and providing a detailed syllabus page (https://newline.co/tinyhouse/syllabus) that shows every lesson we go through. We definitely want students and/or potential students to know exactly what they'll be going through before they even decide to dive in.
I've received some indication in inaccuracies in some of the data. The 2017 cost of living data comes from Numbeo - (apparently the world's largest database of user contributed data). But I do hear you, there's a few inputs I've made that's raised my eyebrows as well.
Had no knowledge of React prior to starting so I gave myself the challenge to design, develop and deploy a web app (with React) as fast as possible . Took me about a month to complete and deploy Citii – a comparison tool that helps you compare and analyze the Cost of Living between cities worldwide – https://www.citii.io .
I'll be making changes/updates to it in the next few weeks so I'd love to hear your feedback!
