there are 168,000 gas stations in America. Any given day maybe 100 have a skimmer working...seems like an moderate inconvenience for something that will literally probably never happen to you.
And if it does... just call your bank and get a new card and get the transactions reversed in a 30min phone call.
that might be comparing two different things. In a single parent household (which I'm sure is heavily swayed towards single mothers) kids may be out playing with other kids.
In families with older fathers, [assuming] there is a higher percentage of dual parenting ... which could mean more attention at home = less time playing sports with the neighborhood kids
Not so fast, what if Walmart lowers overall compensation in the future, what if Walmart's compensation is already overly low. Does that change your opinion on this extra incentive program?
...but the customer is very rarely stuck holding the bag. If you report a transaction as fraudulent you get your money back usually within hours...not really sure what you're on about.
I agree much more with jdam's thoughts - why are we controlling other people with laws. Its sad, ... scary at worse. Is your idea really to start policing people's everyday interactions that we don't support?
Just the judicial and monitoring overhead alone makes this really silly. What do you do to a restaurant that serves unlimited sodas? What resources do you expend to find them and bring them to trial?
whats even more scary, is Google being able to tell what site is valid/secure. Imagine the implications if they limited who could get CA's or decided the information on your site was harmful
I believe speeding is very much a laughing matter and overblown as a justification for tickets and revenue (not evn considering traffic cameras). Speed limits are arbitrary low and cause traffic and accidents due to the resulting congestion. There has been studies stating that (on the highway) a speeding driver is usually safer than someone driving under the speed limit.
Also to address the stopping for children element. You seem to think stopping distances carry the full force of the starting speed. If an obstacle is ahead and im going 5 mph faster than the speed limit. Even if I hit the obstruction, its not like im going 30mph when I hit it. If I could have stopped at 25, but going 30 caused me to hit something I would only collide at 2-5 mph at best.
The difference in stopping distance between 25 and 30 feet must be a few feet. Lets not act like you would hit and kill the kid cause you were driving 30mph when you started stopping.
