You don't have an investor, you have a creditor (might I say: a loanshark). Investing means there's risk of not getting your money back, loaning means you get your money back no matter what.
I'm currently very happy with ThinkPad T440s. It covers all your requirements, comes with a FullHD panel (optional touchscreen) and double batteries. The only downside is the new Lenovo touch/clickpad. I got used to it, but it took me a while to figure out the settings which worked for me.
I agree. Buying the Kinesis Advantage [0] keyboard was the best investment I ever made. CTS was gone in about the time I needed to get back to the speed of typing I was before (2-3 weeks) and has never returned (4 years and counting). I would LOVE to have something similar on my laptop and would gladly pay the premium for it.
At his age, I would love to have a proper RC plane/boat/car. You can get a starter kit for quite cheap from HobbyKing and can provide an introduction in a world of technology, electronics, physics, etc. Also, a lot of fun :)
The service does not access your contacts unless you explicitly execute the import. You may choose not to import any contacts and add them by hand.
Also, I find it strange that people are more willing to trust the phone number than the list of contacts (which you can delete, anyway). Unless you store some credit card info in your contacts list, I guess :)
Quite interesting to see the idea pop up every few years.
