devops or ETL skills. Someone who enjoys a dynamic environment with changing pri
orities and a wide variety of services to build.
Today, I will leave behind the digital world that changed me from human to robot, I will begin building a tiny home and I will commemorate almost getting down to this honest days work by blogging about my new-experience-to-be working the soil.
Is there an Image comics to Etsy's Marvel/DC? Curious if there's a place that re-captures the soul of indie crafts? Or if the successful crafters simply open up their own store and etsy remains the primary place for people to become successful crafters.
Do you honestly shop at only places w/ NFC readers? Do you not eat at restaurants? Do you not take cash out at ATMs? I mean - sure Apple Pay is slicker and maybe more secure - but I can not imagine anyone now ditching plastic to go 100% Apple Pay, Google Wallet, whatever.
I like it when internet folk comment about current technology as legacy because some tiny fraction of its market now uses something new and shiny.
Note. Shipping notice does not actually imply actually shipping, as I just discovered from their customer service agent. It just means they've created a shipping label for you and some time in the future (exactly when he didn't know) it will be used to ship you your coin.
Does everyone kvetching about Apple's product line realize that they have many different product lines? And that there are only 2 iPads (which only people on HN refer to with a generation number, Apple just calls them the iPad Mini and iPad Air).
Steve jobs came back and simplified their desktop and laptop lineup from each having like 10 models to each having 2 or 3 clearly defined models. As they add phones, tablets and watches should each have only 1 model so that the absolute number of models in all of Apple's businesses stay constant?
After trying to figure out if he was actually going to back up his argument anywhere - at some point I realized he was essentially saying that Uber is not different than Pets.com and stopped caring about the article.
Am I expected to watch 15 minutes of videos in order to understand how and what to email Dan? It's an interesting choice - in the context of efficiency and saving time - to decide to put in videos (and some >3 minutes) to watch in the FAQ.
While I appreciate that a lot of email is a problem for many people - solutions need to be aware of the preciousness of everyone's time not just yours (the recipient's).
Is there any actual data anywhere (ANYWHERE) that suggests this is the case? Or statistically more the case than any other CA with a more traditional payment model?
Or is this hand wringing about the stupid people who got the free certificate from the stupid company that likes to give away free certificates but under normal circumstances they might actually charge people for some other part of the service that almost no one ever uses?
Regardless of whether or not one feels he's deserving of this - it's the payment all parties agreed to. Do companies now consider compensation notional? Should they be able to take it back whenever they feel like it? If they think that actually a chef was totally useless for the first year - why stop with options - why not make him pay back 50% of his salary?
This whole line of reasoning is senseless. Compensation was agreed to - that in the end Zynga valued their options less than they ought to have should be irrelevant to employees retaining them.
Much better than I expected, it may not be perfect but it seems like the most secure of the mainstream chat services. I would love to also have seen forward security but that's asking for quite a bit.
He makes this article about technology, but talks consistently about the top 1%. He draws no direct connection between the top 1% and technology. Are people in the top 1% taking the google bus to work? What percent of them are in technology vs say... oh... finance?
I am not disputing that wealth inequality in the states has already reached incredibly disturbing levels but making this argument about technology (without any actual support for it) is not only silly but distracting to the core point.
“It’s literally inconceivable that someone starting a company would choose to use Braintree or PayPal,” Rabois says. “Stripe has become the monopoly for new startups.”
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. Really.
Braintree and Venmo are services that he could not even conceive of a startup using? I suspect that they might have like.. um.. facts that might dispute that worldview.
Whatever you think of the blog post and Musk's spin - he puts his money where his mouth is. He's put into writing that if a 3rd party investigation into the fires finds anything they can do to improve safety - everyone gets a free retrofit. And short of an owner actively trying to destroy their car, Tesla's warranty will cover fire damage.
How many CEO's have that level of confidence in their product? Can you imagine Honda, Audi, BMW or any of the others reacting that way to something like this? And they've been around for much longer.
