So why are we still evaluating people based on their “blurbs,” i.e. their CVs?

We use a combination of unique behavioural data, machine learning, and of course efficient product development, to go beyond the CV and find patterns that humans would otherwise not detect (at least not at scale).

Our longer-term goal is to be not only a preferred destination for transactional hiring, but a compelling, intuitive guide to planning and executing your career goals.

To add to other people's anecdotal evidence, Trello is painfully slow for the board I use the most. Perhaps I over-use it - I have 27 lists, the longest of which has some 1500 cards. But it's slow to the point where Chrome asks if I want to kill the tab at least once every 2 days.

It works fine for other boards, so I assume it wasn't built with so many lists+cards in mind. But the fact it, it can be slow, almost unusable, at least for certain use cases.

Interestingly, I am tired of most projects declaring the language in which they were written upfront, especially when they are a copy of something else, "but written in ${language}!" - however, I am interested in the language a text editor is written in. Or, rather, the language it's extensible in.

I'm a long-time Emacs user, but have been growing increasingly tired of it. Whichever incarnation of Emacs I turn to, it just seems old-fashioned and outdated. And yet, whenever I try another editor, I end up coming back to Emacs. And one of the reasons is often the language (or ability at all) with which to extend it.

C-a <TAB> is bound to the "focus" command. "focus" can receive parameters ("up", "down", "top" and "bottom") Without parameters, it defaults to "down", which is why you cycle downwards with you press C-a <TAB>.

To tab backwards, you call "focus up". It's not bound by default, but you can bind to, say, C-a U:

bind U focus up

and from then on "C-a U" cycles upwards.

You will be joining a team of server developers with varied skills in web development, systems development, devops and QA.

Our development team is small, and you can - and are encouraged to - have a big impact on product and technical decisions.

- Android Developer

We are seeking a senior Android Developer who will take charge of our Android app and bring them to the next level. You will be responsible for building and delivering the new features on our roadmap. The ideal candidate will be flexible, self-motivated, loves making excellent code and takes pride in creating a great user experience.

Your primary role will be to maintain, improve and further develop our Android app. You'll be able to use frameworks provided by other team members and work closely together with them to ensure tight integration in the Android app.

- QA Engineer

We are seeking a QA Engineer who will be responsible for the quality of our front- and back-end web platforms. You will test our products through every stage of the development process and will give the final go for deploying new features or new releases. The ideal candidate will be flexible, self-motivated, loves finding bugs with a comprehensive suite of test cases and hates it when a customer is the one that hits a bug. You will be proactive in writing automated tests as well as helping developers write their own, and you will never manually test an issue twice: if something has escaped existing tests, you will write a new test for it.

You will work closely in an Agile methodology with the engineering team, consisting of backend and frontend developers, and devops, as well as with the product team designing and creating functional requirements. You will be responsible to set up and maintain a comprehensive test suite, whenever possible fully automated, covering all regressions and new features built by engineering team.

Your key responsibilities will be:

* To specify and create test cases for new features;

* To write automated test scripts that will provide test reports at every sprint;

* To profile our apps in order to check for best performance, responsiveness and memory footprint;

* To assist the decision makers in approving the final go for each release.

As a QA Engineer, we expect you to have a proven track record of creating test suites and testing web applications and web services. You should have enough programming knowledge (preferably but not necessarily of Python) to be able to write tests for complex scenarios. Experience in continuous integration and continuous deployment are a plus.

In order to ensure the highest quality, we require:

* 4+ years of experience as QA Engineer;

* Excellent understanding of REST APIs and structured responses such as JSON or XML;

* Excellent understanding of the web stack and its related technologies;

* Good understanding of client-server APIs;

* Experience with Jira and test management tools such as TestLink, or similar tools;

* Experience with test automation tools such as SOAPUI, Selenium, PhantomJS and scripting from the command-line;

About the undo, try and make things simple. The ability to undo only your very last action will probably account for most people's needs.

I'm not the person you're replying to, but there are my comments.

1. Skip any modals. First time users don't care about loading configuration, and current users don't care about it that often that it merits such prominent placing. Have sensible defaults, and load them automatically.

  1a. Sensible defaults are hard to achieve :) Measure user activity and see how people *actually* use the product, and extract your default behaviour from that.

  1b. There is already a "load" link at the menu, that's enough for users to load config later.

2. Have you ever used Trello? They serve a similar purpose, and have a nice solution to this: the bottom of a column ("list", in their parlance) is clickable, to create a new card.

3. FWIW, I've grown to expect a small gear on the top-right as being the menu, and end up always clicking there when I'm looking for something I can't immediately find on the main interface.

4. There is no #4 :)

5. You could also check into external services that provide a save api, such as Google Drive or Dropbox. Localstorage would be cool, but my usage pattern includes accessing from different devices, and having the data saves somewhere externally accessible is crucial.

6. Undo. Have undo. You can completely forget about confirmation if you have undo. It's not trivial to implement, but man. Have undo :)
