Of course! We're happy to help. What are you looking for? After going through 1000's of farms, I've seen some great ones for different products that I could recommend.
When we went into lockdown, my friend Jason and I started looking for meat and produce so we could eat healthier meals with our families - rather than my go-to's Chef Boyardee ravioli and instant ramen - since it was already looking like we'd be in it for the long haul. However, our delivery go-to's had limited supply (I didn't want to go out because my parents are at-risk) and a lot of meat/produce subscription box services had just started waitlisting, so we started to look into farms and found some great ones that delivered straight to our doors. Since I started buying meat from farms, I've had the best meat I've ever had in my life.
When we realized that lots of people were probably in the same boat as us, we wanted to share what helped us and started to put together a database of farms that 1) have online stores 2) where you can get meat, produce, and/or dairy 3) and deliver straight to your door.
We also have >30 filters for everything from the kind of meat/produce/dairy/prepared good you're looking for to the breed, how it was raised, where it was raised, diet, preparation method, etc. You'll find some interesting products trying out the filters: we had a lot of 2am cravings adding farms that sell lamb raised on their mother's milk their entire lives in the Rocky Mountains (I didn't even particularly like lamb - now I do), forest-raised Manglitsa pork, and cave-aged raw milk cheeses.
I was thinking about how to best bring attention to the fact that a free user is limited to 50 mb - this will be a bigger priority.
I've realized that a lot of people don't realize what the web application is about, so I've started thinking about the best way to convey that information.
The id in the file box is actually the name of the drop which you can change. It does not change the share link though if you change the name of the drop.
To create a new drop, you simply have to refresh the page - do you think that is not straightforward?
Interesting and very insightful points you make in your blog entry. However, I think there is one invalid assumption your social voting is based on - the fact that the first and last user will vote.
In the point in time at which they vote, the first and last user experience a hope for a future incentive - but no actual incentive. Why should the first user vote on a comment about some piece of content?
This dilemma makes this system the same as the current, pre-dominant social voting system - it provides no initial incentive for someone to create activity, only the hope for a future incentive.
Congratulations on the launch! It is a very aesthetically pleasing web design. Seeing the product kind of gives me an itch to start gardening :)
Here's some general feedback I had:
1. Instead of "SproutRobot tells you when to plant & sends you seeds," how about an even more general statement, like "We'll give you everything you need (to grow your own groceries)!" I feel as if the current statement limits your what your product does in people's perceptions. Personally, the main reason I don't garden is because I'd have to do a lot of initial work. If you positioned yourself as making the initial work a lot easier, I'm sure a lot more people would be encouraged to sign up. Sure, gardening may mainly be knowing when to garden and having the seeds, but I think most people perceive that there's a lot more to it than that - of course your product will change that :)
2. Why not change the "Get Started" button to "Get Started, It's Free!" and remove the small banner underneath it that says "It's free to sign up!" I like the button, and I think it's one of the more prominent features on the page, so why not use it to induce trial by incentivizing clicking on it?
3. I also agree with one of the comments above me talking about how the actual sign-up page is a bit wordy. While having illustrations like you mentioned would certainly help, you should try to greatly shorten the sentences. It made me think it would take too long to read the page.
4. Sorry for jumping around, but on the homepage, you should also put in some client-side validation to ensure that the zip code field is already filled in before they click "Get Started!" Receiving that error page would be enough to discourage me from continuing.
Other than that, I'm liking the website. I can't comment too much on the actual product itself because I haven't tried it out yet, but I will certainly give you my feedback when I do.
