Pascal, Assembly, C, Java, Python, JavaScript. Somewhere in there was Perl, but that seems to have been largely replaced with bash and Python for those types of tasks. Also somewhere in there was the dead-end Dart language, which I liked. I've been using TypeScript, but it does take effort not to revert back to straight JavaScript.
It's good to see the spread of microservices as it's a better way to develop scalable applications. Nice that there's so much innovation in this space.
There's a nice interview of Jonas Boner, Lightbend CTO and creator of the Akka framework at the link below. If you're interested in reactive microservices, you should check it out.
It's actually easy to use the API and I'm hoping to use more features for the my next project, which is a mobile app to get voice alerts of distributed IoT data from the cloud. Not sure if this answers the question, but I think the API is usable by businesses.
Thanks man. I'm going to try and incorporate some of this for my 12 year old daughter. If there's a simpler explanation of this for kids, that would help. Otherwise, I'll power through and make something myself. BTW, if you have a daughter that you're teaching to program, I wrote some articles here: http://pychildren.blogspot.com/2015/01/tiled-map-creation-fo... I'm working on some new lessons. Peace.

The GitHub README.md has the most concise description of Grafeas, which is a metadata API specification. It further explaisn note and occurrence. I think that reading through the README.md of the Grafeas project first might help to understand the blogs by Google and IBM.
Lots of really great cloud infrastructure being released as open source. Good to see these projects with docs and all the stuff that makes them easy to work with.
