If I can have an additional way to interface with my home, then I see it as a win.
What I think holds the largest value to me, is to be able to extract information that you can't get from flicking a switch, or actively looking at a screen/tablet somewhere in the home. What's the weather? Can you start a timer for X minutes? How long is my commute today?
I don't usually use it daily, as I find more value in the weekly/monthly views. Though I would love to know what "Due to low usage" actually is. Should I be visiting it daily? Is my weekly/monthly visit meaning it is "low usage"?

Typesense has been great for us so far. Easy to set up, works great with the simple queries that we need.
Lots of great additional functionality on top of search, for example security, with scoped API keys and the likes that we're looking forward to making use of.

I have been setting up something recently using k3s (more specifically k3d for k3s in Docker) and it seems great so far. I'm having to use k3d since I'm not in Linux but as soon as WSL2 is available then I can even get rid of the Docker part I think.
I like the idea of having a developer be able to play entirely with their own local infrastructure to get as close to production as possible.
A hosted service will definitely make this less painful but once you get up to speed with k3s then I doubt there is anything faster than using it.
I'll also add Olive[1] as an alternative video editor. I tried shotcut this weekend for just a simple clip/split mashup of videos and it was so slow and cumbersome. Olive on the other hand was extremely responsive.
