completely agree, he is a US citizen that was partaking in breaking US laws (tax evasion) by US Citizens, that trumps Swiss Law let alone Swiss "Duty".
It also makes no sense to me ethically to have the same protections as Drs or Lawyers for bankers, lawyers protect your rights, dr protect your life...what exactly do bankers do that is so important...besides hide Nazi gold and crash the world's economies?
the net positive is that cyber-security is brought to the forefront for the US gov, more importantly this will be a great movie staring colin farrell as an Israeli ruby developer that came up with the plan
