On the other hand, I can read something once and If I can handle the material, I typically retain it effortlessly. I know a lot of other people that cannot self-educate via reading.
This study seems to be suggesting something similar to a denial that introverted and extroverted types exist. How can they not?

The investment itself should be tax deductible. The payments themselves should be rather than just the interest. If you freelance at night to pay off your loans, then you basically have to earn almost twice as much as you owe due to the taxation on the additional "income."

The article posted today is so rambling, incoherent and rabid and so far removed from the realm of "professionalism" that I believe he has not only burned his bridge with his publisher, he has done so with all publishers everywhere.
This doesn't seem to be characteristic of him and if it is, he's certainly a less admirable individual than I had surmised.
Well again, you are behaving like a condescending jerk. You don't even for a second consider that your pontification amounts to an assault on the livelihood of thousands of capable developers who are guilty of nothing more than the moral imperative of responding to market forces.
My personal, experience is that I lost my last position of 2 years when the company was knocked out of operation by several months of clients not paying their invoices during the financial crisis. I am now in a position that is steering me directly towards obsolescence. If I take measures to preserve my career, I risk not making it through your "filter" because of your cursory glance @ my resume? Well thank God for that. The only problem is, what if other people actually pay you any attention?
The fact that you are now whining about the anonymous attacks and epithets because you never asked the internet to read your blog shows how little you grok the medium to begin with. You deserve worse than insults and epithets, you deserve to be tarred and feathered by your (probably miserable) employees.

I would say that "debt" is appropriate,when the lack of knowledge is an artifact of decisions that prevent interested developers from working with new technologies.
I've seen this happen time and time again, with managers (or owners) who think of their developers as "X language developers" and fear any additional cost or time from investing in their developers learning a new technology on the clock.
In this scenario, the lack of knowledge is an accumulating deficit as it is simply due to a lack of necessary maintenance. The fact that the salve he recommends is "recruiting" suggests that he's guilty of this.
Is there any wonder that the industry has so many job-hoppers? And why should they be blamed?
