What alternatives are people using for Evernote that support more than just text?
The main draw Evernote has for me is the ability to attach an arbitrary number of files to a note, add some additional text or a useful title, and then search on those notes across iOS and OS X devices. I've been increasingly frustrated by how buggy and complicated Evernote has gotten so I'd be happy to try alternatives that might be out there.

Really minor nitpick - I think Matz claimed that about 30% of his prior RubyConf predictions were false, so about 70% of his prior RubyConf ideas eventually did make it to production.
I'm using it on some older hardware (2011 MacBook Pro) and it's been working just fine for me. It's maybe a bit more sluggish than Mountain Lion on the same hardware, but the difference is small enough that that might just be in my head.

Is there another PHP framework you would recommend? I'm about to start looking at Symfony as a replacement for our aging, home-grown PHP framework. I'm partial to Django, but since PHP is a requirement I could use thoughts on PHP alternatives.
Can anyone recommend a keyboard where key presses are very low impact?
I'm getting Emacs Pinky in most of my fingers and could use something to reduce stress on them. dcolgan's suggest key mappings are something I'm going to try, but a better keyboard can't hurt, either.
My vote is probably not. The plausibility of these things is pretty important. With the aspirin heart attack prevention example mentioned in the text, we have a plausible biological mechanism to give us reason to expect an effect, so we can be satisfied with more equivocal data. I'm not aware of a plausible mechanism for precognition - in fact, it seems like precognition would probably require a bunch of other things we think true to be false to work - so I'll need much stronger evidence than this to accept it.
Also, a thought - if precognition is possible, why don't we see more of it? Being able to improve recall of words is nifty and all, but it seems like it'd give you a huge advantage catching prey or evading predators so I'd expect to see evidence of it all over the place.
For a vaccine to be effective only one person needs to take it. That person gets immunity and thus it's effective.
That's not always true. Even good vaccines aren't 100% effective, so a vaccinated person exposed to a pathogen can still get sick, it's just less likely.
Also, it's important to remember there are some populations who either can't be vaccinated (e.g. children too young for attenuated, live virus vaccines) or for whom the immunity induced by a vaccine may not be robust enough (e.g. the elderly) who still require herd immunity even if they've already chosen to be immunized.
The common cold's actually a tough one. There are so many different viruses that cause "the common cold" and an anti-viral would probably only work on one of them.
Just putting together a clinical trial would be incredibly expensive because of the difficulties in picking out patients who have the virus your drug treats while they're still early enough on in their illness to be treatable. I may be wrong, but I thought that there actually were some early phase trials of a drug to treat rhinovirus, but they were stopped because of logistical difficult and expense.
