This sounds a bit like an addiction? We need to find ways to exercise influence in the real world, offline. The connections formed through volunteering or public service are the better weapons.
I too thought this was "Hacker" News, where we found ways to break down barriers and expand access to services to the benefit of society. Apple is absolutely abusing their market position and we should all be finding ways to establish healthy, multi-platform communication standands. It is disheartening to see many folks here fighting for the status quo, which clearly isn't working. Beeper devs are the hackers I will always support, the kind that drive a subconscious shift of our morals to something more inclusive.
This article continues to be a fantastic introduction to the distributed log and all of the benefits it can bring a project as scaling becomes more complex. When I worked at Salesforce, we successfully implemented Apache Kafka and Storm into our Pardot product to ingest and process millions of user activities per day to progress users inside customer-created automated workflows. Having one source of time series truth is pretty cool.
I have been excited about this project for quite some time. They recently released their Rust client, although without networking. I cannot wait to play with it further as it holds the most promise amongst all "Web3" decentalized platforms.

If both secret messages are somehow discovered by a hacker, I wonder if it would still be possible to influence the outcome by controlling enough of the hash rate. You would have to be able to insert funds at exact indexes within the participation phase, control the number of participants, and have complete influence over the final future blockhash. Thoughts?

How are you measuring efficiency? If something is centralized and widely used, are you even capable of recognizing technological progress now defined by the centralizer?
They do offer credit cards through third parties. They also have the Amazon payment service that allows third parties to process transactions through Amazon.
