Would the FTC count as "other parts of the government"?
I seem to recall one of the arguments of Pai is that the FCC shouldn't be responsible for regulation of the internet, it should fall under the FTC.
So as head of the FCC he can effectively strip it of all power, the governance shifting to the FTC. Once his commission is up he takes a job at Verizon/At&T/etc, lobbying the FTC.
Or, as burkaman noted, they will just issue a waiver.
Not sure if this changed, but at 35m 47s they just show a static shot of the rocket on the drone ship. The 'live' footage of the landing was earlier in the video (27m 20s).

Really, I love alliteration: the only thing the 'for Rubyists' really means is that I assume you don't know about pointers, concurrency, or similar things. That's okay, you've never had to think about them before! I explain this stuff in extra depth. If you program in another dynamically typed language, you'll be just fine. If you program in another systems language, you'll be more than fine.
I'm taking it right now. There's a lot of maths and theory, and it's quite a difficult course, but it's been a great way to learn the foundations of cryptography.
I took the course last year, and really enjoyed it a lot. It's a very good introduction to functional programming.

I didn't realise this had previously been announced. I've updated the title to indicate that the news is actually that the Early Access edition is now available for purchase.
This was one of the first things I noticed as well. It seems like such basic functionality (the maps app in iOS had this since at least iOS3), I was amazed to find you can't edit them in the app (thankfully you can see @andrewaylett's comment for a way to do it).
There are several serious bugs in the saved locations functionality.
I found that if you 'pin' a location (say a building) on the map (by pressing and holding) it will show the address. But when you 'save' it, the details of the address get 'lost' when looking at your search history. I ended up with multiple entries in my list titled 'Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan' (which is the equivalent of, say, 'Manhatten, New York, USA'. Clicking each one still takes you to the correct location on the map, but they are impossible to tell apart in the list. Also then when using the 'directions' widget on the map and picking the destination, these saved locations appeared as longitude/latitude!
I wonder if these issues are specific to Japan? I submitted feedback about this.
That being said, overall the app is quite impressive, and I'm sure it will improve.
I'm completely new to backbone and jQuery and I've only recently started learning javascript (I have a C++/Java background, and only tinkered with Rails a few years back).
I agree with bilalhusain, the talk does wander a bit, but as a jQuery newbie it was quite useful for me. YMMV.
I liked how you built up the use of the framework, gradually adding events, templating, iteration etc.
I would like to be able to follow along (doing the same steps myself), but I didn't understand the starting point of your project (is it a sinatra app?).
Do you have instructions on how to get setup to that point?
A screencast for setup would be great, but even a list of pointers would be helpful.
