Sure. He's vague, but you can piece together pretty easily it's a limerence issue.
He's already in a weak position. It's everyone - Google, HR, Co-workers, his unrequited lover and now pessimists HN commenters vs Him. And he lost his job.
So why don't we just point at laugh at him? Or just go all strict and "just world". He had it coming right?
This is a person undergoing emotional trauma, he needs supportive friends to be around.
> "You are scheduled to be deleted on our next cron job. Nothing complex."
Is this serious? What's a cron job have to do with knocking out information from a rdbms?
I imagine a cron job could be useful if there was a script to clear out any static files - but you can also invoke the script manually. "Nothing complex" :)
Even if you're programming javascript, ruby and python - you will be able to write better code and take all those patterns and incorporate them into things.
What needs to be known is that this involves a deeper level of thinking.
To be blunt, only the very best programmers can truly understand functional programming. Once they do, they can take any programming language and pretty much make it bug free, reuseable and readable like english.
Functional programming is for the top 1% of programmers / highest IQ's in society. So this blog may not be useful and perhaps seen as ignorant by non FP.
You guys were hardly successful - I still go through 27bstroke6 (yes, i remember the old name of threatlevel) and find the PDF affidavits are broken links.
Disappointing guys. Do you care enough? Can you guys hire and intern, go back into pacer and bring back the PDF's?
Make a log of your progress please. Do that, and you'll win my respect. Poulsen's writing was great.
> UPDATE: There are, by and large, two broad types of writers: extroverts who promote themselves capably, but might or might not have equally good skills, and introverts who lock themselves away and aren't great at self-promotion.
That in itself is a broad swath of a statement, and not necessarily true.
Why does being an extrovert have to be correlated with being and impostor, and introvert just simply these poor humble victims whose talents are overlooked?
What I saying is, if you're looking for work - applying for jobs is never the time to be humble. And if you are already confident, being humble won't help you.

OP, you're worth it.
