That's not much good when you're just talking to ahitty GObject APIs that - guess what! - use reference counted GC and have lots of race conditions. You gain nothing
Because regardless of what the propaganda says, Rust is in the same tradition of most other popular languages: bloated code for features you don't care about. If you want real small code, you use an array language with a small interpreter.
What's the hype for? Yet another language claiming to be safe with tons of gotchas and unsafeties. If you want safety, just use ada. C++ is good enough for the rest of us.
