This hasn't been happening in the US overall, and the reason may be the prevalence here of fixed rate mortgages. The number of houses on the market is way down, though -- people don't want to move if it means getting a new mortgage at a much higher rate.
Interestingly, prices in the neigbouring Netherlands have been rising again for the last 6 months.
