It looks almost exactly like:
http://pulzed.com/demo/powerblocks/
Same UI, first two puzzles are exact same, and it's the person who was plagiarized in the first place (Tronix → Treksit). Yup, this another plagiarism.
It would get unproductive but since you cannot turn the sound off, it stayed productive.
i like that Chrome users, like formerly IE users, need special instructions to do what Firefox users can do very simply
no you actually don't. you can right click any tab and mute it.
Or Safari. Just click the little blue speaker icon in the URL bar.
I too ceased playing because of the sound. Barely funny the first time or two, it was just irritating after that.
(Yes, I know I could mute the site, but by then the appeal of the game was over.)

Most browsers show a little speaker icon on a tab playing sound, that you can click to mute the tab.
Right-click the tab > Mute Tab? I don't remember the last time I actually hunted for a mute button on a site, how do you deal with sites with auto-playing videos and whatnot?
I don't deal with them. If I mute it on my end, it gives the impression I'm ok with this kind of ads or content. But I'm not so I go elsewhere.
Caution to anyone wearing headphones.

I appreciate that you thought that

Pretty cool game! I had to stop playing after a while as people around me were starting to wonder where the "Oh yeaahh!" was coming from.
Agreed. It was less of a celebratory "oh yeah" and more of a moaning "oh yeah", which felt a little uncomfortable while playing a non-sensual game. There was a button in the bottom right that had an ear on it, and I thought it might mute the sound, but it just turned on music. I wound up having to mute the tab in Chrome (right-click tab, click "Mute Site") in order to play with more comfort.
The "oh yeah" has a sexual intonation to it; it's perfect.
Cool concept. The 'oh yeah' was a nice (or not nice :D) touch.
The game is quite pretty, and fun for a minute, but it didn't seem to actually get more challenging as I played, and it got old quickly. And yes, the "oh yeah" is super weird.
It’s sadly a little too big for my iPhone SE :(
Same for my BlackBerry Key2, still playable but the top area is obscured
Really I feel like half the challenge is that the whole thing is constrained to a tiny phone screen sized area and you can barely see what your pieces even are until you've thrown them onto the grid.
Great game, but I'm really confused as to who made it. I clicked nearly everything on the screen and couldn't see an author anywhere
there are credits on the bottom left https://theblocks.netlify.app/credits.html
But this does not list any credits for the actual game...
Looking at the websites sources the actual game-code (powerblocks.js) was apparently written in 2016 by Danijel Durakovic (who is not mentioned in the credits...)
But I could not find anything about the games code/author elsewhere.

Reminds me of playing with tangrams as a kid. Surprisingly, still pretty damn fun.
I'd never heard of tangrams until one day, many many years ago, I stumbled across a tangram book at a second hand shop, bought it, and built a Flash tangram game thing in Flash 4 (with all the pain that coding Flash 4 entailed). When Flash 5 came out I rewrote it with the ability to save your creations. It was quite popular for a while.
I opened this in Firefox and Chrome on a desktop and nothing happened other than some blocks floating by. No keyboard or mouse activity had any effect.
It was only when I tried it on my phone did I see it was a game

The ability to rotate pieces would really increase the difficulty factor.
Not a very original concept. They use these puzzles for child intelligence tests. Are the puzzles automatically generated?
What would be hilarious (imo) would be if the 100th puzzle is actually unsolvable.

That "ohh yeah" made me so uncomfortable.
This was really fun, and I loved the soundtrack. The suggestive "oh yea" message got old quickly though.
I love it - can you add rotation so you can scramble the pieces when you start to make it more challenging?
reminds me of the minigame in "The Talos Principle", but there a significant source of complexity comes from the ability to rotate the pieces.
"Ohhh yeahhhhhh"
Help me, this game makes me feel weird inside.

The "oh yeah" is creepy as hell, disable it!
That game is amazing.
Love the headline
thanks for posting! it is a lot of fun.
Addictive!
Both "Treksit" and "Blocks" use the same ambient music and have the same attribution in the credits:
> Huge thanks to Mary Lou (Manoela Ilic) from Codrops for the constant inspiration.
These are almost certainly by the same person, under two different accounts. That doesn't automatically mean this was also plagiarized, but it's extremely suspicious.
