The EU also has an official dashboard that provides lots of information (you have to click on the destination country and then through the categories and symbols): https://reopen.europa.eu/en/map/FRA

Plenty of the info for their Netherlands page is either wrong or out of date. It's kind of a mess.

Their information doesn't include that the EU is barring entry by Americans due to the US's inability to get the epidemic under control.[1]

Technically, the EU cannot decide on foreign travel for its member states. It can only recommend. The recommended list was negotiated between member states beforehand, so it would not end up having different travel restrictions from beyond the EU within EU member states.

That being said, some EU member states have already announced they are barring travel differently based on the list. For instance, Hungary has said they will only allow travel from Serbia from outside the EU/Schengen. But someone from Canada could travel to Austria and enter Hungary that way.

Yes. It's a "recommendation" from the Council of the EU and is not legally binding in itself [0].

In practice, the member states are likely to go along with it, or they would have made a fuss when it was being discussed.

The only country during the negotiation that was advocating for travel from the US was Poland. Greece has seen very few cases relatively speaking, and they want it to remain that way. There are plenty of tourists from other European countries that can visit Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain. Besides, those same European tourists won't be travelling beyond Europe this summer anyway.

Could, but with Schengen, they’d upset all of their neighbours if people use PIGS as a backdoor.

Dunno if they’d go that far. Spain was even asking French visitors to quarantine until recently.

Greece might be tempted though: easy to control any Americans entering other EU territories, there is no border free by land from Greece.

At least in France, they do extra checks on incoming flights from Greece as it is for refugees.

Would also like to know which countries are treating COViD patients for free. Most traveller insurance is basically suspended/useless these days.

Ontario Canada has said they’ll treat anyone for COViD free of charge (documented or not), as they’d rather you get treated than hang around infecting others.

Thanks for sharing, for young heathy people this could in theory be a very good opportunity to travel if your wfh full time. Also nice airtables!
