I would use that anger to still work for the industry. You still can get a job. Use AI to work minimally and perhaps get another job (part time?) and take advantage of AI as well to work minimally. Earn two paychecks (not big ones, but combined, good enough) and put your passion on side projects. Fuck companies
I think it’s because they are more convenient: CDs are cheap, you own your music. With iPods you save hundreds of dollars per year, and you get to keep your music (and the iPod shuffle is perfect for working out).
Besides the topic of freedom, we know how seemingly “good” companies (e.g., google) turned out to be: billion machine monsters that couldn’t care less about humanity and that have huge amounts of power… and yet, we vouch for Anthropic/openai to become the next giants because “progress”. Face palm.
> Do you mind if I MITM all of your work output, your emails, your code, your messages, and attach my name to it and then receive your paychecks in exchange for my work?
But how do they know what day is that? Unless you have already something ready to be announced (and you just hold it until the very last moment, which doesn’t make sense, since you could just announce it asap)
As impressive as it sounds, I don’t think this is representative of the AI panorama. It’s difficult for non tech people to build tailored software just like that, and unless things change drastically, I don’t see the majority of the population building their own software just like they use mobile phones
