What is not cool is that ROOT was "designed" and built by people who had absolutely no idea how to run a large-scale software project. And it shows everywhere - it's one huge monolith that you have to constantly fight to do anything slightly non-trivial. I'm happy that I don't have to use it frequently, though I still have some exposure.
You probably mean "to prevent military tension"? When tension already becomes war, it's sort of pointless to continue economic integration in the hope that it can stop war.
From all her posts I got quite different impression. I feel like she is abusing her position to spread misinformation about how particle physics actually works. Repeating again and again "You are all idiots and do not know what you do and only care about funding" does not help her much in building a valid scientific argument.

As a kid, I lived in a part of the world where we did not buy potatoes in the supermarket. We harvested them in autumn and stored until next summer, storage was a basement (cool, dry, dark place). By the spring it inevitably sprouted, we had to remove sprouts and sort out rotten ones (usually done only once). No one ever got sick from sprouted potatoes, that is the most ridiculous thing that I heard. Green potatoes are those that were exposed to light, people said it's not good to eat, but I guess you would have to eat a lot of them to see the effect.

EDIT: To be more specific, the news I heard on Ukrainian media was that corridors were indeed open for a brief period, but fire started again almost at the moment when transports with refugees began moving, giving them no chance to leave.
