Please show some sensitivity to the people of Chile and change the title to something more factual, and less sensational.
Sorry, too late to edit :( I wasn't aiming for sensational, just dry humor. I apologize.
This makes me wonder -- what is the root source of Earth's energy? The sun? Chemical reactions?
(My research says that tectonic motion is caused because the Earth's core/mantle is hot. OK, but how did it get hot? Is it cooling off? What happens when there's no heat left?)

When you find out the day is shortened by milliseconds you really have to think was all that work finding out how much time the day was shortened worth it.
Tasteless title, considering the death toll.
For passer's by, the title of the actual article reads, "Chilean Quake May Have Shortened Earth Days".
